How it works here

Working to United Kingdom practice.

UK projects run on defined information processes. Clients issue an Employer's Information Requirements document, the delivery team answers it with a BIM Execution Plan, and information moves through a Common Data Environment with agreed naming, status codes and review stages.

Sactik works inside that structure rather than around it. We take the BEP as the brief, name files and containers the way your project does, and deliver models at the level of information need the project specifies.

Standards and requirements

What matters here.

Requirements differ by project and owner. Treat this as a guide and send us your project’s own documents: they govern.

1

ISO 19650

The international information-management standard that the UK BIM Framework is built on. It replaced the earlier PAS 1192 approach known as BIM Level 2.

2

Employer's requirements and BEP

We work to your EIR and BIM Execution Plan, including the information delivery milestones and responsibilities.

3

Level of Information Need

ISO 19650 and EN 17412-1 describe what information a model element must carry. We map this to LOD for geometry where the project uses both.

4

Classification and data

Uniclass 2015 and NBS content where the project requires them; COBie and IFC outputs for handover.

5

Public sector

The UK government has required BIM on centrally procured public projects since 2016, so public-sector supply chains expect the same discipline.

Units and conventions

Metric (millimeters), with UK drawing conventions and sheet sizes.

Working hours

About four to five hours of overlap with a UK office day (09:00 to 13:00 GMT, 09:00 to 14:00 BST) if we work 09:30 to 18:30 IST. The rest of the day is production time you do not have to staff.

Time-zone note

Hours assume a 09:30 to 18:30 IST working day, which Sactik will confirm. Daylight saving moves the overlap by an hour.

Typical workflow

How a project runs.

  1. 01You send the BEP, templates and source drawings
  2. 02We confirm naming, LOD and delivery stages in writing
  3. 03Models issue at each information milestone, with a model-health note
  4. 04Queries go through your CDE or a shared log, not scattered emails

Questions

United Kingdom, answered.

Do you work inside our Common Data Environment?

We can upload to and work from the CDE your project uses, following its naming and status rules. Tell us the platform and the access arrangements.

Do you know the UK BIM Framework terms?

Yes: EIR, BEP, MIDP, TIDP, CDE and the information container approach. We work to what your project documents specify.

Is a UK-specific NDA possible?

Yes. Send your NDA or ask for ours, and we sign before files are shared.

Starting a United Kingdom project? Send us your drawings.

Tell us what you have and what you need. We reply with a scoped quote, and we will sign your NDA first if you ask.
