A good brief saves more time than any other single step. Send the items below with your enquiry and a partner can give you a scope and price that will hold.

- Project stage: concept, design development, construction documents, construction or as-built.
- Disciplines needed: architecture, structure, MEP, or all three.
2. The source information
- Drawings as DWG or PDF, plus any Revit or IFC models that already exist.
- Point clouds in RCP, RCS, PTS or E57 for existing buildings, with scan control.
- Specifications, equipment schedules and design criteria.
- A note of anything missing or likely to change.
3. The standard
- The BIM Execution Plan, EIR or owner guide, if there is one.
- Level of Development for each element category, written as a table.
- Units, coordinate system, levels and grids.
- Your Revit template, naming rules, line styles and sheet standards.
4. The deliverables
- File formats: RVT, IFC, NWD, DWG, PDF.
- Which sheets, schedules and quantities you need.
- Model-health expectations: warnings, purge level, workset organization.
5. The schedule
- Milestone dates and who approves each one.
- Whether coordination rounds are planned, and how often.
- How many rounds of review are expected.
6. Communication and security
- A named contact on your side with authority to answer queries.
- How questions will be logged and answered: a shared sheet, your CDE or email.
- NDA or data-security requirements and how files will be shared.
- Your preferred time for calls, and the time zone.
7. How we will quote
With the above we can quote a fixed price for a defined scope, or an hourly or monthly rate for ongoing work. If you are unsure where to start, send what you have and a note of what is missing. We will say what we would need.
